Good news on the pledging front for the second time today. We’ve now passed £275k in pledges. Total amount pledged so far stands at £278,650. We’re making great progress towards reopening the Hare and Hounds.
We’ve passed £250k in pledges to re-open the Hare and Hounds. As of 23rd November £258,650 has been pledged. We’re making great progress, but still have a way to go. Please keep supporting the effort.
Members of the Steering Group visited The Green man at Thriplow last week to learn more about the their community purchase of the pub. There are great local examples of communities buying their local pub, and a wealth of knowledge and experience that we can call upon.
We’ve posted a pledge tracker to the pledges page which we’ll update regularly. It shows where we’re at and where we need to be. It’s a big task but with strong support from the community we’re confident we can get there.
There is a meeting on Wednesday 2nd November at 7.30pm at the Harlton Village Hall. The material from the first meeting will be covered, and any new information will also be shared. Members of the Steering Committee are visiting the Plough and Fleece at Horningsea next week. The Plough and Fleece was purchased by the community in December 2013. We’re looking forward to learning more about how they structured their community purchase, their business plan, the charities that supported the purchase, and to generally take advantage of their valuable experience.
