Members of the Steering Committee are visiting the Plough and Fleece at Horningsea next week. The Plough and Fleece was purchased by the community in December 2013. We’re looking forward to learning more about how they structured their community purchase, their business plan, the charities that supported the purchase, and to generally take advantage of their valuable experience.

We’re working hard on putting together a business plan for the Hare and Hounds. An important part of this is getting a valuation of the pub. We’ve instructed Humberstones to carry out a survey on our behalf. More news on a presentation of the business plan soon.
The Steering Group has been busy with preparations for a community bid to purchase the Hare and Hounds. We’re taking advice from Pub is the Hub (https://www.pubisthehub.org.uk/), talking to Cambridgeshire ACRE (http://www.cambsacre.org.uk/), and the Plunkett Foundation (http://www.plunkett.co.uk/).
The Steering Group is working with the Pub is the Hub, a non-profit organisation for helping rural pubs, and for helping communities working towards acquiring their local pub. Bernard Lee is providing invaluable advice.
